Our Story :)

I finally have time to post the engagement story. First of all, Joel... you better be happy. And second of all, I should probably start with a little background of me and Colton.

We met in high school. We dated on and off during high school, and then Colton went on his mission to Milan, Italy. We wrote most of the time he was gone... then not so much the last 6 months or so. I was sooooo incredibly nervous for him to get home from his mission. I had no idea what to expect. Would we hate each other? Be best friends? Be more than friends? Would it be awkward? Totally comfortable? I honestly had no idea. I was freaking out even months before he got home. Just ask Jamie and Leah--They heard plenty about it while we were in Chile.

Needless to say, things went amazingly well when he got home. Everything felt so perfect and comfortable. It was just like old times, only we were both completely different.
The day after Colton got home. Yeah, it didn't take long.

It did not take long for us to realize that we kinda sorta really did like each other most of the time... or all of the time.
My birthday date Colton took me on. Up at Temple Square.

March 5th, 2010 Colton took me to lunch at Cafe Rio, my favorite :) I was sort of expecting something to happen, simply because he had been so antsy and nervous the entire week before. However, I wasn't sure when. He then informed me we were going to go to a salon in Alpine to visit my friend Stephanie because he hadn't seen her since he had gotten home from his mission. I didn't really think anything of it because it sounded like a fairly normal thing to do. But, instead he started driving to "our playground" at an elementary in Alpine.

Then... it sunk it. I totally knew what was going down. I was so nervous and so excited all at the same time. It had snowed over a foot the night before... so I jumped on Colton's back and we headed to the playground. We stood there and he said "Do you remember what happened here?" And I said "You asked me to be your girlfriend" (back in high school... so cute). He responded "Yeah, but what else?" I was a little confused at this point but responded "Uhhh we kissed?" Again his response was "Yeah, but what else?" I felt really dumb at this point. I was the girl... wasn't I supposed to remember every detail of those sorts of things? Well. I had no idea. So, I told him I just wasn't sure. He then got down on one knee (in a foot of snow...) and asked me to marry him... and he said a whole bunch of other stuff, too, but honestly I can't remember what. Soooooo can anyone guess what my response was? Well. It wasn't "yes." Instead, it was "duh, of course!" Such a typical I'm-so-blonde Paige moment.
Kelsi was one of the few people to know about it and was there to take pictures.

Cheesy showing off the ring picture. Classic.

This picture is making fun of our friends Katie and Brandon who had gotten engaged not long before us.... Pretty much I was about to jump on Colton so that our pictures could be identical to all of theirs ;)

Regardless of how I answered, we're ENGAGED and SOOOO in love and cannot wait to spend eternity together! The wedding date is July 2nd. We're getting married in the Draper, Utah temple. :) We couldn't be happier :)

(And now, Joel, you can sleep at night knowing that I have blogged about the engagement story... although you've already heard it in person.)

It's about time :)

Ok, so I do realize I'm a slacker. I've been home from Chile for awhile now, and I've only just barely posted a FEW posts about the orphanage. If you'd like to read about it, go here. And also, I realize that some of you (namely Joel), would like me to post my engagement story. Don't worry, it's coming. It just might not be for a few months. Why break the current trend I have going of being a slacker? :)

Worst. Teacher. Ever.

And no... I'm not talking about any of my current professors. I'm talking about me and my new calling. Relief Society Teacher. Horrible? Yes. Even the counselor was shocked by it....
